3 Mother’s Day DIY Gifts

Mom will certainly treasure these gifts crafted straight from the heart! These fun projects help kids express their creativity and love for mom at once. 

Mommy Mugs

Materials:

Matte Mugs

Sharpie Markers

Directions:

Using your Sharpie markers, draw your design on your mug and dry overnight. Once the design is set, place the mug in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Make sure to place it in the oven before it heats up to avoid cracks. Take them out to cool, and your mug is done!

Cooking Queen Apron

Materials:

Solid White Apron

Fabric Paint

Decor (Ribbon, Yarn, Flowers, Buttons)

Hot Glue Gun

Directions:

Paint away! Hand print flowers and suns, write inspiring words, whatever comes to mind. Then, let the paint dry. Next, is the fun part - decorate! Using your hot glue gun, secure ribbon to the waistband, and/or flowers. You are done! Fold it, wrap it, and give it to the best mom in the world.

De-Stress Mom Candles

Materials:

Wax Paper

White Tissue Paper

White Candle(s)

Markers

Blow Dryer

Directions:

  1. Measure the length, width and height of your candle on the tissue paper, this will be your canvas.
  2. Draw your picture on tissue paper with your markers.
  3. Next, wrap the tissue paper around your candle and tape the ends to secure it.  
  4. Place your wax paper on top of the tissue paper. Blow dry until the wax paper heats up and you see the tissue paper transferring, sort of like magic!
  5. Finally, peel off the wax paper carefully, and your drawing will be transferred onto your candle. All done!
