31 Days of Play in May

The trees are green again! The warm sun is inviting you to get outside and play. Pick one activity below each day to play with your kids. Build connection, unwind, and have fun!

1. Make a sidewalk chalk creation together.

2. Jump on a trampoline.

3. Fill a kiddie pool with water and add bubble bath solution!

4. Fill water bottles with colored water and spray paint the bubbles in your bubble pool!

5. Take poster board and paint to the sidewalk and create art.

6. Go on a family bike ride.

7. Make Erupting Ice.

  • Mix baking soda and water.
  • Freeze in a muffin tin.
  • Use these ice blocks for cool play on a hot day.
  • Spray vinegar on the block creation to watch it fizz. 

8. Go fishing.

9. Look for tadpoles and observe them for a while.

10. Play with a water table.

Don’t have one? Just fill a large plastic bin with water. Add toy boats or create a whole underwater world!

11. Play Duck, Duck, Goose.

12. Make an outdoor music station by hanging pots, pans, jugs, lids – anything you want! Grab different instruments to play music with, such as sticks or spoons.

13. Draw a bullseye with side walk chalk and throw wet sponges at the target.

14. Make a pool noodle marble run like this one from Little Bins for Little Hands.

15. Go swimming.
