Mummy Bars

Make healthier, homemade spooktacular treats for your kids this Halloween. These sweet and simple Mummy Granola Bars are perfect for breakfast, school lunches, or for a halloween themed party. You can make your own granola bars using just about any bar recipe you like, or use your favorite store-bought granola bars. They are so easy, inexpensive, fun to do with the kids and can be made in different variations to apply to your kids dietary needs!

Recipe for Granola Bars

Ingredients:

5 Cups Old Fashioned Rolled Oats

1 Cup Chopped Nuts (Peanuts, Almonds,Pecans, Cashews, etc.)

½  Cup Honey

½ Cup Butter (Unsalted or Salted)

2/3 Cup Brown Sugar

 

Optional/Swapping Ingredients:

2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

½ teaspoon Salt (Optional with unsalted butter)

½ Cup Mini-Chocolate Chips

½ Cup Coconut Shredded

½ Cup Dried Cranberries

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven 350 Degrees.
  2. Toast nuts and oats in oven for 9 minutes (covered lightly in oil).
  3. In a pan, stir butter, brown sugar, and honey over medium heat. Stir till combined and sugar has dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt. In a bowl, pour the mixture over nuts and oats and mix.
  5. Let cool. Then, add coconut and dried cranberries. Place this mixture in a prepared pan lined with wax paper. Toss chocolate chips over the top and place the mixture firmly into the pan. Let it cool!
