Kids Kitchen: Rice Krispies Pumpkin Treats

By Gia McBride

I made these kid's kitchen treats last year for my kids. They loved them.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Yellow and red food coloring
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chip mini morsels

Directions:

  1. Slowly melt butter in a large saucepan. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Add food coloring, per the instructions on box, to make marshmallows pumpkin orange.
  3. Add Rice Krispies and mix well. Allow to cool slightly.
  4. Using clean damp hands, form Rice Krispies into Pumpkin shaped balls. (Damp hands help prevent sticking) Allow to cool and harden.
  5. Place one mint leaf on each pumpkin as a stem and use chocolate chips to create fun faces.

Enjoy!
