5 Indoor Snow Activities for Kids

by Rebecca Eanes

Baby, it's cold outside! If your ground is covered in fluffy white stuff but it's too cold to be outdoors, here are 5 kid's activities that you can still enjoy!

    1. Make snow cream!

Ingredients: 8 cups of snow, ½ cup of white sugar, 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1 cup of milk. Collect the snow in a large, clean bowl. Bring in and mix all of the ingredients together, using the milk to the desired consistency. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

    2. Make permanent snow flakes!

Do this by freezing a piece of glass and a can of aerosol hairspray (both can be kept in the freezer until needed). When you're ready to catch snowflakes, spray the chilled glass with the hairspray, then go outside and let some snowflakes settle on the glass. Observe!

    3. Snow painting!

All you need is a pan of snow, some food coloring, and a little artist! Collect fresh snow and let your child “paint” the snow by dropping food coloring on. It's fun to see the cool designs it makes!
