Baby & Maternity Awards Program Details
Creative Child Magazine's Baby & Maternity Awards Program is unique in that all products submitted are reviewed by moms and moms-to-be. Each product that is related to baby or toddler development will receive a secondary review conducted by child educators. Products are not reviewed by any one person. They are reviewed by the very people who purchase them.
Each year in May a 2-day event is held in Henderson, Nevada where over a hundred moms and educators are invited to a ttend our organized review at our local convention center. All products are divided into categories and displayed at various review stations. The moms and educators are asked to sit and review each product located at each station. Upon completion of the review at a station the moms and educators are then asked to move to another station so that each product is given multiple reviews.
A review form is provided to each guest to aid them in evaluating each product. The review forms are to include written comments and a score value based on criteria that corresponds to the product's category. Upon completion of the event all review forms are collected by Creative Child Magazine staff assistants. All scores are tabulated and comments are reviewed.
Later, based on the scores and comments, award winners are determined. Only one Product of the Year winner is given per category. All runners-up are given the prestigious Preferred Choice award.
All products submitted including award winners are officially announced on our website, www.creativechild.com, in August. In addition, all products submitted are published in our September issue which is featured at the annual ABC Kids Expo.
