31 Days of Play in March

by Rebecca Eanes

Week 2: March 6th - 12th

My childhood may be over, but that doesn’t mean playtime is. - Ron Olson

6. Grab some hula hoops from the local dollar store and see who can keep the hoop going the longest!

7. Make sand volcanoes.

  • Build up a sand sculpture, leaving a hole in the top.
  • Pour in red food coloring, 2 tbs baking soda, and ½ cup of vinegar...
  • Watch the volcano erupt!

8. Make Shamrock Slime for St. Patrick’s Day. You can find the recipe here at Kids Play Box.

9. Have green pancakes and green milk for breakfast for another St. Patrick’s Day memory! (Just add a little green food coloring!)

10. Fill up water balloons and hang them from a low tree branch. Give your child a large stick and play water balloon piñatas!

11. Dreary, cool day? Freeze small toys in a large pan of water until solid. Give your child a rubber mallet to break them free.

12. Make a backyard fairy garden. Use your imagination! Pinterest is full of ideas and inspiration or check out this potted fairy garden if it is still too cold to play outdoors!
