Anyone whose grown up with a pet knows the special bond between a kid and their favorite animal. When I was a kid, I'd pull my red-eared slider turtle out of her terrarium and give a gentle scrub with a toothbrush. It was one of our little one-on-one activities. My parents thought it was pretty charming, but it's not nearly as cute as this video of a little girl giving her pet chicken a makeover.

The video has gone viral with more than 9 million views on Facebook and more than 2 million shares.

According to Buzzfeed, the video takes place on a Brazilian farm where the little girl's family keeps several animals. Flavia Leão, mother of the five year old girl in the video, said she captured the sweet moment just after it had rained. Her daughter is combing the lucky chicken's feathers because it had already gotten a shower (from the rain, that is). Too bad chickens don't have lips because lipstick would have really pulled the look off!
