Leading by example is also crucial to raising a leader. People like Elon Musk or Franklin Roosevelt are great role models, but they’ve got nothing on the role models kids see in their daily lives. Becoming active in the school’s PTA or PTO, for example can be a great way to teach your kid the power of planning and fundraising.

You don’t have to be the CEO of a global corporation or an expert in diplomacy to be a leader for your child. Begin raising a leader by challenging your child to organize or lead a school club this year. Start teaching leadership lessons early, and they won’t be overwhelmed when they’re faced with leadership challenges later in life.
